About Croatia - Town/City Distances

The distance calculator works on a straight line basis, therefore it will not be 100% correct as no road from point A to point B will be in a straight line, the other complication is the shape of Croatia.

As long as you apply a few simple rules, the Croatian city and town distance calculator should be approximately correct.

If you are calculating the distance from the Northern part of Croatia, that is any part of Croatia above Karlovac to the Southern part of Croatia, that is any part of Croatia below Karlovac, you should first calculate the distance from your location to Karlovac and then from Karlovac to Josipdol and then from Josipdol to the southern location you are traveling to.

Osijek -> Karlovac -> Josipdol -> Zadar

If you are calculating the distance from the Northern part of Croatia to a location in Istria. you should first calculate the distance from your location to Karlovac and then from Karlovac to Opatija and then from Opatija to the Istria location you are traveling to.

Osijek -> Karlovac -> Opatija -> Pula

If you are calculating the distance from the Southern part of Croatia to a location in Istria. you should first calculate the distance from your location to Opatija and then from Opatija to the Istria location you are traveling to.

Dubrovnik -> Opatija -> Pula
