About Croatia - Dalmatia

Dalmatia (Dalmacija in Croatia).  The name Dalmatia is thought to have originated from a Illyrian tribe called the Dalmatae who lived in the area in the first millennium BC.

Dalmatia today is only a fraction compared that of the ancient Dalmatia, the ancient Dalmatia covered a lot more inland land, what is today parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.

Dubrovnik-Neretva County
Sibenik-Knin County
Split-Dalmatia County
Zadar County
